Being a mother is overwhelming. The anxiety and stress are directly proportional to the number of children you have. When I had my first child, I directly breastfed him for 15 months. I had extreme supply issues but I kept him latched on to me to naturally boost my supply. This meant long nursing and tiring sessions. Being a first time mother, I was reluctant to consume any over the counter galactagogues or breastmilk boosting pills.
With the second baby, I was already an experienced mother. I knew better than I did 2 years ago. I chose to breastfeed my second one directly but things did not work out that way with a toddler in the house. I was adamant to breastfeed my second one because breast is best. So I exclusively pumped milk for her to make sure she gets the best nutrition.
When you express your breastmilk, you can quantify your supply and then comes the stress. This stress was causing low supply for me. One day of drinking less water or eating junk food and it would show in the quantity of milk I produced. That was when I found out about lactation cookies. My love for baking combined with the powerful effects of lactation cookies, I was sorted with my supply issues.
This was when I decided to bring this into the lives of every nursing mother. I have been careful with the ingredients I chose to curate the menu, keeping in mind the gassy side-effects of few galactagogues / breastmilk supply boosting super foods. I hope this clears the question of "how did you come up with this idea"?
